Our Story
Alder Therapy was founded by Maddi Levinson, Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist, with nearly 20 years of clinical experience supporting older adults and their families navigate the transitions that accompany later life. Maddi has worked in hospitals, Long-Term Care, and community settings, developing a deep specialization in later-life mental health.
As our population ages, the need for skilled mental health support for older adults and families has never been greater. Alder Therapy was founded in direct response to that need — and has grown into a group practice that is united by a common approach: compassionate, evidence-based, and person-centered care.
In addition to providing clinical services, we offer education and training to clinicians looking to deepen their skills in later-life mental health — reflecting our belief that a stronger professional community ultimately means better care for the clients we serve. Like the Alder tree whose roots enrich the soil, we are here to strengthen the broader community — clients and clinicians alike.
